Oral diagnosis - oral medicine

To diagnose correctly, knowledge about the normal build and function of the body as well as of deviations is required.

The oral cavity is the most central part of the body, both physically, mentally and socially. General diseases and drugs affect the ecology of the oral cavity in different ways and can thereby increase the risk of getting diseases in the mouth. Also, many diseases first give symptoms in the oral cavity.

The care provider shall be able to offer dental care of the best possible quality, with the highest security, at a reasonable cost, and with as few side effects as possible.

A correct diagnosis is the basis of all treatment. This requires simple and suitable methods for examination, analysis, treatment planning, documentation, evaluations and keeping of medical records.
